I look over with a happy smile
At a dear friend through the years.
Carefree smiles always graze her face,
Though her eyes held hidden tears.

I'd like to say I know her well,
Unfortunately that's untrue.
Seeing her always day to day
But I don't know her like I thought I do.

Even still I watch carefully;
While keep yelling my thoughts to her ear.
So many events have passed her life
I'm afraid her heart won't last.

Oh no dear, please don't worry.
Do not misunderstand.
U'RE A STRONG GIRL! that will live right on,
Even ur other heart slips through sand.

I know u'd rather be somewhere else
At a far more distant place.
He's important to you, isn't he?
It's been a year since you've seen his face.

I wish I could take you there, dear friend
To where you long to be.
I'd shoot you there through a slingshot,
But that sounds murderous to me.

Don't worry dear, ur's will be here soon
To stay and to hug.
Hold you in his big warm arms
For you, and only you, to snug.
